The Effectiveness of the Bobath Concept in Stroke Rehabilitation

It's about time the UK started to look critically at Bobath, I speak as a stroke survivor, a former academic, who has slowly come to realise that my treatment is based on a belief system, and that my NHS therapists are not evidence -based in their practice, but have neither have they the slightest grasp of the philosophy of science, nor of the ethics, of "just trying out things because the belief system seems to indicate they should work".This is indefensible in the 21st century, it's probably too late for me, but take a look at
Holland' s decision to drop Bobath and go with evidence, for God's sake, before others are damaged by aggressive and ineffective treatments such as serial casting. I lost enough muscle mass with 4 moths enforced bed rest ,without being further wasted by 6 weeks in a cast, There is no evidence for stretching, that's it, no matter what Bobath and spouse proclaimed. decades ago. It's time to move on.
